CHERYL COLE can't have had much clobber in her wardrobe for her 28th birthday party at The Sanderson Hotel in London last night.

The Geordie lass ended up raiding her bathroom for toilet roll and cotton balls for her party dress.

At least she won't be short of stuff to take off her slap at the end of the night.

The singer - in hiding since she lost her American X Factor judging job five weeks ago - told pals the party marked her return to showbiz.

A family friend said: "Her moping about the X Factor is over. She's determined to jumpstart her career. She still has America in her sights."

Guests were expected to include her GIRLS ALOUD bandmates, BLACK EYED PEAS star WILL.I.AM and X Factor judge LOUIS WALSH.

But cheating ex ASHLEY COLE was told to stay away, despite recent get-togethers.
