Wheelchair riot bandit jailed - The Sun

A WHEELCHAIR-BOUND man caught helping a pal steal a television during the London riots has been jailed for a year.

David Knott, 18, was spotted on CCTV leaving the scene with the giant Alba TV while nursing a broken leg.

Knott, from Eltham, south-east London, was pushed away by an accomplice after having the item dumped in his lap.

Cops investigating the riots and looting as part of Operation Withern arrested and charged him in August

He pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods belonging to an Argos store in Woolwich, east London, and was sent to prison by Inner London Crown Court on Thursday.

Borough commander Richard Wood said: "Officers from Operation Withern continue to arrest suspects nearly every day. We have plenty of CCTV footage which is being closely analysed by a team of experienced officers.

"Our officers and PCSOs are on the streets of the borough looking for those being circulated as wanted. We will not rest until we have arrested them."
