Rita Ora Gets Stern With J. Cole In “Love & War” - MTV.com (blog)

By Miranda Johnson

Joining forces with her Roc Nation label mate J. Cole, Rita Ora presents fans with her newest cut, "Love & War." The two MCs trade bars duet-style on the track, acting out a scene as lovers contemplating if they can recover from constant fighting and turn over a new leaf.

The British songstress opens the tune with stern lyrics as though she's speaking from experience. "You give me love and take it away," she sings. "I see you like this game that we play/ And yo this fighting sh-t is getting too old/ And you gon' find yourself left out in the cold."

With Ora and Cole going back-and-forth through their relationship frustrations, the chorus goes: "Yeah, something crazy about the way we love to hate each other/ I don't wanna fight anymore/ Everyday we fighting like the navy, baby/ Maybe we could save each other/ I don't wanna fight anymore/ You go off, I go off and you mad over nothing/ I don't wanna fight anymore/ Can't we just make love and not war?"

The Roc Nation singer also appears in a super sexy GQ spread in the magazine's September issue. In the feature, the 21-year-old gushes about the fun she had making her debut album ORA (expected to drop August 27 in the UK and forthcoming internationally), stating "It's fun to show off your abilities. Your vocal range, your tone."
