While most of his contemporaries were out enjoying pre Oscar parties, Russell Brand was busy shopping with his new girlfriend.
The 36-year-old comedian was spotted stepping out with Oriela Medellin Amieiro, publicly for the first time, yesterday, in West Hollywood, California.
The new couple were seen leaving the Crystalarium shop in what is the first major sign that the former Lothario is moving on from his failed marriage to Katy Perry.

The yoga loving pair picked up a small bag full of goodies from the store which specialises in rare gemstones, minerals, and natural crystals.
Russell was again sporting his new style of dress and avoided wearing his trademark skinny black jeans for a pair of leg warmers and some baggy white pantaloons.
The bearded actor also wore a grey cardigan with a grey T-shirt which he teamed with a mediation bead necklace, sunglasses, and flip flops.

His girlfriend, Oriela, 25, was dressed in a black shirt with matching trousers and jacket and she also wore a meditation bead necklace.
The Mexican artist, who was first linked to Brand last week following his recent divorce from Katy, is said to have met the comedian at the yoga class they both regularly attend.
Oriela was then apparently seen leaving the comedian's apartment earlier this week after staying overnight.

The beauty has made a name for herself in the art world through her nude paintings, which can reach up to 4,500 each in sales.
On her website, Oriela describes her work as 'exploring feelings of guilt, sensuality, sexuality and repression from a woman's perspective.
However, when asked about the relationship by The Sun, Oriela remained coy and replied: 'I am not comfortable talking about this.'

A source told The Sun: 'Russell is a single man again and starting to move on from Katy.
'Like any bloke, he had missed female company. He isn't quite back to his old ways yet, but he's very much back in the saddle.'
His estranged wife Katy Perry didn't appear to be missing Brand last night as she partied at the 20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party at The City of West Hollywood Park.
The blue haired Firework singer was seen enjoying herself amongst other stars including Dita Von Teese and Adam Lambert.

"Well I think these pictures speak for themselves; Katy hasn't been seen with anyone" kay, london, 27/2/2012 15:17 Katy was papped partying with male "friends" (the paper suggested they where more than friends) at Xmas time the papers made a big deal of it because she was reported to be meant to be spending that time with both her own family and Russel's family in England. In the pictures of her and the guy there was body contact arms around him, laughing, both looked comfortable with each etc etc so if this picture says he is in a relationship with this women (no body contact etc) then she was having a full on affair before they even announced they where splitting up but pictures do not speak for themselves. If he is in a relationship with this women (neither him or the women have confirmed they are anything more than friends) they are not flaunting it or all over each which is a dignified he is a single man and can do as he chooses so how exactly is he being immature.
