Suspects accused of attempting to assassinate Vladimir Putin have been arrested by Russian and Ukrainian special services, according to state TV.
Channel One said the group were plotting to kill the Prime Minister in Moscow immediately after the presidential election on March 4.
The arrests were reportedly made in Ukraine's Black Sea port city of Odessa.
The claims were confirmed by Mr Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov to the ITAR-Tass news agency but he has refused to make further comment.
Russian and Ukrainian special services also declined to comment.
Earlier this month, the Ukrainian Security Service said had it detained three Russian citizens on terrorist charges in Odessa on February 4.
It is not yet clear whether those suspects were linked to the anti-Putin plot.
Those arrests followed an accidental explosion that happened while they were trying to manufacture explosives at a rented apartment, the authorities said.
The reports emerged after at least 30,000 anti-Putin demonstrators formed a human chain in the capital for the last big protest before voting takes place.
