Ex Labour MP ruled to have fiddled expenses but will not face trial - The Times (subscription)

A former Labour MP carried out the biggest fraud uncovered during the Parliamentary expenses scandal with dozens of bogus claims over a six year period, a jury ruled today.

Margaret Moran, the former MP for Luton South, fraudulently claimed more than £60,000 but will not face jail after a judge ruled she was mentally unfit to face a criminal trial.

Moran "flipped" the designation of her second home three times in just a year to make bogus expenses claims using forged invoices, Southwark Crown Court was told.

She is sitting on an estimated £500,000 profit from two of the properties
