Queen to attend Cabinet to mark Jubilee - The Times (subscription)

The Queen will tomorrow become the first monarch in modern times to attend a Cabinet meeting.

Flanked by the Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary, the Queen will occupy Mr Cameron's usual seat - the only one with arms - as she sits in as an observer on the weekly meeting.

To mark her Diamond Jubilee she will also be presented with a gift, which has been funded by contributions made by each Cabinet minister. However, Downing Street would not disclose details of the gift which will be presented at the beginning of the "long-planned" visit.
