Andrew Mitchell, who resigned as Chief Whip yesterday, is facing questions from MPs over his support for Rwanda's highly suspect Government.
MPs and human rights groups were demanding to know why, on his final day as International Development Secretary last month, he unfroze £16 million in aid to a regime with which he has close ties but that stands accused of brutal conduct at home and abroad.
They say that Mr Mitchell broke a show of solidarity against Rwanda's transgressions and gave President Kagame a propaganda coup. Since his decision three authoritative reports have confirmed that Rwanda is fomenting conflict
