The health service takes a massive step towards the publication of the first NHS league tables today, releasing swaths of key data on the performance of doctors and hospitals across England.
From today, patients can access thousands of items of information to measure the quality of care in their local area and compare it with other areas.
The data is provided for each of the 211 new clinical commissioning groups, the GP-led bodies responsible for the delivery of health services. Health-related data for 152 local authorities is also published.
