The man accused of kidnapping and murdering the missing schoolgirl April Jones wept in the dock today as he made his first appearance before court.
Mark Bridger, 46, was brought in a prison van at 9.20am in light rain to Aberystwyth Magistrates Court, mid-Wales, where he was greeted by a small, angry mob of bystanders.
They hurled abuse, a missile was thrown, and some attempted to kick the van but were restrained by a line of uniformed police officers outside the modern harbour-side court complex.
