FRANKIE Boyle yesterday defended his controversial comments about the Paralympics claiming they were "celebratory".
The 40-year-old comedian said he was just doing his job when he tweeted jokes during the opening ceremony on Wednesday night that were branded "vile" and "desperate" .
Yesterday, he told his followers: "I'd say my Paralympic tweets are celebratory.
"I'll be joking about Paralympics same way I joked about the Olympics. That's my job yo."
He also said people should read the jokes and make their own mind up, adding that he believed they were "pretty funny" and "non-discriminatory".
Boyle said: "Nobody thinks it's a good thing to laugh at the disabled.
"But it is a genuine problem that we're not allowed to laugh with the disabled."
