FINNISH PHONE FIRM Nokia's Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 prices have appeared here in the UK, courtesy of online mobile retailer Clove.
According to the online phone shop, the Nokia Lumia 520 will fetch £169.99 when bought SIM-free ahead of its release on 1 April. This is almost £60 cheaper than its Nokia Lumia 620 sibling, which Clove is selling for £226.80, proving Nokia's claim that the Lumia 520 is the cheapest Windows Phone 8 handset to date.
The Nokia Lumia 720, on the other hand, has been priced at £299.99 SIM-free, as it is positioned between the Lumia 620 and the more expensive Nokia Lumia 820 handset. Clove is promising that the Lumia 720 will also start shipping on 1 April.
The Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 620 were announced at Mobile World Congress on Monday, at a glitzy launch event that The INQUIRER attended.
The cheaper Nokia Lumia 520 reaffirms Nokia's mission to cater to all price points, but that's not to say that the company has skimped on its specifications. It features a 4in WVGA screen, a dual-core 1GHz processor and up to 64GB of internal storage, along with all of Nokia's Windows Phone 8 software features such as Here maps and Cinemagraph. It also has a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 1,340mAh battery.
The Nokia Lumia 720 improves on its cheaper sibling, featuring a 4.3in Clearblack touchscreen, a 6.7MP rear-facing camera and a 2,000mAh battery. µ
