Miliband: We lost the plot in power - The Sun

He said his party had let down its traditional supporters badly during 13 years in power.

In a damning appraisal, he confessed the last government got it WRONG on tax, immigration, the banks and Iraq. And he accepted his party has "a very long way to go" to win back the trust of voters.

Mr Miliband said Labour were drummed out of office after ex-PM Gordon Brown stopped listening to both his party and the people.

The Labour leader told a Progress rally in London: "The British people lost faith in who we stood up for." He owned up after a month of attacking the Coalition for being out of touch.

Meanwhile, he rounded on Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt — under fire over claims he tried to prevent a public inquiry into newspaper phone hacking.

Mr Miliband said: "Out of touch with the many. Too close to the few. Jeremy Hunt should go."
