A man has died and another was injured in an early morning motorcycle crash, police said.
The two men, aged 18 and 20, were discovered lying beside a motorbike on a walkway by a cyclist at around 5.45am on Monday near to the Milton Link road in the Magdalene area of Edinburgh.
They were were taken to the city's Royal Infirmary where the 20-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival. The 18-year-old is recovering with a leg injury.
Lothian and Borders Police believe the two men were travelling on the same bike and it may have crashed into a tree.
They are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.
Meanwhile, a female motorcyclist is being treated in hospital after a crash with a car.
The woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with suspected back injuries after her bike was involved in a collision in Kingussie.
Northern Constabulary said the occupants of the car were treated at the Kingussie Health Centre.
