US President Barack Obama has arrived in Afghanistan, on the first anniversary of the killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
He is expected to sign an agreement during his unannounced visit to Kabul, mapping out future relations with the country.
Obama will also designate Afghanistan as a major non-NATO ally.
US officials say the president will not be making any specific decisions on further troop reductions in the country until at least September.
